Writing Status: 2024 Missions Accomplished!

Last year was busy yet amazing for me; new job, fun colleagues, new bond, exciting adventures, and never a dull moment! However, my baby (writing) suffered, constantly pushed to “tomorrow”. 

The good thing is, every December, I promote my writing guide with the tagline: You can still write a book before the end of the year.

This time, as I wrote it, I told myself the same thing. So, I dusted off a dialogue-driven novelette trilogy idea I drafted back in 2021, inspired by the #Before movie series.

You can still learn a new skill and write a book in 2024!

Happy New Writing Year

 Dear all,

#NewYear #NewMonth #NewOpportunities

Yes, my writing ‘year’ is just starting. If you are like me, you would have taken one or two months off after a busy writing year, or should I say, a busy writing ‘10’ years.

Last year November, to the glory of God, I marked 10 years of self-publishing with 40 published books 😊. I also smashed a few writing challenges, or goals, I set for myself when I started the journey. I call them challenges because I challenged myself to accomplish them:

1. Write and publish in all 3 branches of literature: Prose, Drama, Poetry

2. Write all forms of prose: flash fiction to epic

3. Write several genres: from realistic fiction to Science fiction and non-fiction

4. Write 3 different series: short story, novella, and novel. Though this wasn’t a goal, I joined the Wattpad 12 days of Christmas writing challenge and wrote a Christmas/themed short story collection of 12 unique stories in 12 different genres

5. Use all the alphabets from A-Z to title my books. Some of my books were inspired by their titles. This was just a fun and creative challenge, which I enjoyed

I am excited to share that my long-awaited crime novel is ready to meet the world.

The book was inspired by a visit to one of the construction sites of my previous employer @BusinessContractingLtd after 4.5 months of work (Swipe to see previous photos). The book was completed in 2018 and was waiting for the perfect moment to meet the world… the moment is here 😊.

Description:

A British civil engineer goes missing from a Nigerian construction site, and circumstances unfold, revealing that a potential crime may have occurred. However, with no body to be found and over a hundred people present at the site, solving the case seems impossible. Inspector Tunde Osbourne must team up with a British detective to crack the case within an impossible deadline. Everyone is a suspect until proven otherwise.

New Month... New Goal!

#NewMonth #Aug1 #Goal

You can still write a book - scrap that. You can still write at least 3 books before the end of the year without compromising on quality, and using a process that works!

 I just completed another short story in my #NigerianAssassin series. I wanted to stop at #3 but I got tempted to stop at #5 instead, for now 😁. #4 is done, 1 more to go 💪🏽.
