“The Power Of A Praying Parent ” is a Christian, religious, non-fiction book by author Stormie Omartian.

I got this book from my sister and it was the best book I read in 2017. It became my partner, my travelling buddy, my prayer guide, as every chapter was food to the soul for me.

The author gives you prayer points for every possible situation with childbearing - from pregnancy to giving birth, to beyond, using real-life and personal experiences. The good thing is that you can still use and apply the prayers and scriptures from the book every day.

The book starts off with a chapter called "Becoming a Praying Parent." Once you start reading it, your whole heart opens up to the two sides of parenting - the easy and the difficult, and how to live through them. And the next chapter is "Releasing My Child into God's Hands." With this second chapter, you feel more relaxed having children in the world of today filled with many and daily atrocities.

As I read the book, I saw myself saying each prayer not just for my child, but my nephew, my husband, my siblings, my parents, my relatives, my in-laws, my friends... I prayed for everyone close and dear to me.

It was a fantastic book, and I'm sure I'll read it over and over again.
