Book Cover Reveal: When It's Murder

Dear readers,

I hope you all are doing well, because I am.

I'm happy to officially reveal the cover of my upcoming book, the first [stand-alone] in the Thrilling Mystery Series, "When It's Murder."

I had a lot of ideas for the cover, but I didn't want to give too much away or make the story predictable, and I also wanted something very simple. It then came to me, newspaper clippings... newspaper clippings played an important role in the book, so I thought it would make sense to feature it on the cover.

I spent quite some time browsing the net and searching for the perfect image, and just when I was about to give up, I found one from Pinterest. I'm not a Pinterest user, because if I was, I would have probably found the image earlier. Also, the image happened to be free. I gladly took it. I made 12 different samples with the image and passed them through 15 family members/friends... it was difficult to shortlist samples from their votes, as almost everyone picked a different sample, but I eventually shortlisted two. There was no explanation for their choice, they just liked the ones they picked, but the general feedback I got was that the cover could be better. What I had was too busy.

I went back online to search for more newspaper images, and then I found another... it was love at first sight, a blank newspaper page and it was also from Pinterest. So I used it to create 2 new cover samples, adding another element of the story to it, and I got about 12 votes for one of them. I was also told that the new samples were much better and simpler. Finally. I was happy. I took this new cover and the two other shortlisted ones for the final votes, and the blank newspaper page cover won.

Okay, that's enough story for today, time to see the cover...

Drum roll...

More drum roll...

And here it is...

Book description:

What do you think of the cover? I hope you like it, because it's too late to change it 😄.

Remember that you can still be one of the advance readers/reviewers of this book, all you have to do is send me an email and request a copy. The book is due 14/Dec/2018. I can't wait to share it.

Literarily yours,
