Book Review: Two-Hundred Steps Home, Volume 2

Book description:

Claire's life revolves around Starbucks, stilettos and her career as an Advertising Account Director for AJC. That is until her boss Carl decides to send her on a mission to visit every one of the 200 YHA hostel in England and Wales as part of a marketing campaign. More used to five-star spa resorts than 'flea-infested hostels' Claire only takes the assignment to save face. It becomes clear to her the 'mission' is a ruse to make her resign. Volume 2: Claire has reached the Lakes and is strongly in need of a Starbucks. Her boss has told her to up the adrenalin, so Claire finds herself climbing trees and dangling over waterfalls all in search of 'Blog Fodder'. The handsome and mysterious Josh is tagging along too, helping Claire face her fears. Is he looking for company, though, or a place to hide?

"Two-Hundred Steps Home" is a collection of daily installments in the Adventure/Travel and General Humor/Comedy genre, by author Amanda Martin. This is the second volume and it contains February's installments of the author's daily challenge on her WriterMummy blog.

I gave this book a 3-star because it was a bit too slow (to me). There was nothing new in the story. I liked the 1st one better. This doesn’t mean it’s a bad book, or it's not worth the read because some people might enjoy it. I still commend the author for her work, because it takes a lot to put a story together.
